Be Realistic

Before starting your renovation, you need to be realistic about what you are capable of handling. Some tasks will require more special skill training than others, and some models may be more challenging to reconstruct. If you buy a used camper, be aware of potential problems regarding water damage, electrical problems, plumbing, and more. Make sure to think realistically when it comes to what you can accomplish and how much you can spend to renovate your unit.

Make the Plans

Now that you have a general idea of what you can do to renovate your RV, it’s time to form a concrete plan. Start by assessing the rig and which parts may need to be fixed or spruced up. Next, think about what you have now and what you want in the future. Are you trying to renovate your camper with upgrades? More comfort features? If your rig is worn down, you may want to aim to make it look brand new. Once you figure out your plan, make a list of tasks to stay organized.

Painting 

A fresh coat of paint is a simple step that can really make all the difference. You can keep it simple or get creative with the design. For the interior, consider adding some wallpaper for a fun accent wall. 

Furniture

Another important part of any RV renovation is the furniture. Over time, the furniture in your camper can get worn out. However, most furniture is bolted down so it doesn’t move around while in transit. If you want to replace it, you’ll need to pull it out of the floor. When bringing in new items, make sure they can fit through the front door of the RV and will not take up too much space. We recommend compiling measurements and a layout of the interior before you buy any new pieces.
